Inspiring creativity
About Moore Arts Charity

Moore Arts: Millom or M.A.M. As we are affectionately known, due to Jakki being MAM to all the kids, was born many years ago back in around 2005. Originally set up in partnership with the then, Copeland Council Arts Department in order to offer teenagers a regular Youth Theatre.
Since then, we have grown and blossomed, now with our very own venue, The Beggar’s Theatre, we offer many opportunities for young people and the community to enjoy theatre, film, animation, music, technical and production sessions and workshop that are participatory, fun and confidence building.
We are not here to make Actors, we are here to develop the individual, the confidence and self assurance of young people by bringing together likeminded people in a creative space. They learn skills not just for theatre but transferable skills for life, make new friends and enjoy a safe space to express and explore their selves through drama.
Take a look at our Timetable (insert timetable) Keep your eyes peeled for further classes, workshops and opportunities coming up.
Our artists are fully trained and experienced in both the arts and working with young people.
We offer workshops for schools and community groups and a space for schools to bring their performances to life.
We also offer work experience, volunteering opportunities and mentoring.
All of our staff are fully DBS approved.
Moore Arts: Millom is the lease wonder of The Beggar’s theatre and the two work hand in hand on bringing arts and culture to our lovely town of Millom.
We are a registered Charity and have recently been awarded funding from several local funding organis
