Patti Boulaye: Aretha & Me
6th March 2020
Following the last two years of sell-outs of her show “Billie & Me” the award-winning singer and musical theatre star Patti Boulaye, returns to the stage, with her brand new one-woman show “Aretha and Me”.
In this fascinating show, Patti compares and contrasts her life with that of the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, whose celebrated career included 17 Top 10 singles and 20 No.1 R&B hits during her 5 decades of recording.
Patti Boulaye will be singing some of her favourite Aretha Franklin numbers including Respect, Say A Little Prayer, Chain of Fools and Think and many more with some of her own favourites which are special to her.
Here’s what the press have said:
An accomplished musical theatre performer, there are standards from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber and an exquisite arrangement of The Sun Whose Rays from The Black Mikado. A delicate rendition of I’ll Be There is dedicated to the memory of Michael Jackson but it is the ripe, bluesy At Last, which provides Boulaye with her most successful ballad of the evening. The Stage
“……………. Boulaye’s appeal lies as much in her ability to charm an audience as it does to woo them with a sublime talent which has – as this production proves – been absent from the cabaret stage for far too long.” (The Stage)
“I was totally smitten by Patti Boulaye ” (Musical Theatre Magazine)
“Makes all others pale and unsatisfactory by comparison” (Cabaret Hotline)
“Has the packed room hollering for more” (Lord Archer – The Spectator)
“Patti Boulaye is back with a bang” (The Master Copy)
“Toe tapping along” (Evening standard)
“The power and quality of her voice remains undimmed” (The Stage)
BILLIE & ME 2018
A warm, idiosyncratic raconteur, Boulaye’s appeal lies as much in her ability to charm an audience as it does to woo them with a sublime talent which has – as this production proves – been absent from the cabaret stage for far too long.
